Hwanseungkan guide: how to read fast transfer car numbers
First, where this data comes from and how far to trust it.
What you see
For each station, which car and door are quickest for each transfer line.
The values depend on the line you ride and its direction (last stop), so rows are grouped that way.
Search a station, or start from the line you transfer to.
We show only values in the government data. We never fill in a guess.
Line 1 belongs to different operators, so the operator is written next to the line name.
Text in brackets next to a station name is the source's own wording, kept as is.
At the top of a station page are the lines you can change to there. Each one opens that line's page.
A transfer line page lets you scan every station where you can change to that line.
How to read a row
For example, on the Sadang Line 2 row toward Gyodae there is Line 4, car 5, door 3.
It means: on that train, car 5 door 3 is the quick one for changing to Line 4.
Which end the cars are counted from follows the source's own notes. We do not reinterpret the values.
Station after transfer and Transfer origin station are the source's own column names. If one is empty, that line is hidden.
The last stop is the direction the train heads, so a row reads toward that station. Values differ by direction even at one station.
Two rows for the same transfer line differ in the station after transfer or the origin station. The car and door can still be the same.
When it says not in the data
If the source leaves a car or door number empty, we say it is not in the data.
Rows with no last stop sit under Last stop not in the data.
Rows with no station name cannot be placed on a station page, so we leave them out.
A row that appears twice with identical values is shown once.
We never fill a blank with a value from a similar station or an average.
Date and limits
Every page shows the data date. It is the Ministry's update date.
Train sets and station works can change things. It may have changed.
On site, signs and staff come first.
Crowding and seat chances are not in this data, so we do not cover them.
A script in the repository checks once a day whether the data changed.
The date is the one the Ministry set. It is not a day we checked on site.
An old date can simply mean the data has not changed since.
When we load new data, the date on every page changes with it.
Source
Fast transfer information for railway stations (15151816), published by the Ministry on the Public Data Portal.
There is no restriction on use, and we credit the source.
Besides Seoul Metro it includes Korail, Busan, Incheon, Daegu and other stations in the file.
We collect no personal data. The privacy policy has the details.
The source columns are operator, line, station, last stop, transfer operator, transfer line, station after transfer, transfer origin station, car order and door number.
The values here are that file's values. We add and remove nothing.
